When you are in a Combat Jiu-Jitsu or Reality Based Self Defense situation, one of the most important Jiu Jitsu techniques you need to know us how to use jiu-jitsu to escape bad positions… especially side control escapes and jiu-jitsu mount escapes

One of the first Jiu-Jitsu Escapes to learn is the technical stand-up. The Technical Standup is a universal movement in both Combat Jiu-Jitsu for Self-Defense, as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for training, competition and MMA.

When using the jiu-jitsu escape: technical stand-up, shows up when your opponent hits a jiu-jitsu takedown or you end up on the ground and they have your legs. The are trying to take the Jiu-Jitsu Mount position or BJJ side control position. You need to escape before they can establish mount or side control.

Aiki-Jitsu is a form of Japanese Jujitsu that is one of the major martial art influences in TRITAC-Jitsu.

The concepts of Aiki-jitsu – using small joint manipulation, for example: Aiki jitsu wrist locks; are great. But the problem with Aiki jitsu is the ability to actually get the aikijtsu techniques in a real self-defense or street combat situations.

Kote gaeshi or reversed wrist lock the street, is a very popular aikido / aiki jitsu technique in Japanese Martial Arts. At first the kote gaeshi looks easy, but its very hard to use the Kote Gaeshi for the street or in a aiki jitsu self defense situation.

Matt Bryers from TRITAC-Jitsu shows you how to use Aiki-Jitsu Techniques, particularly the Kote Gaeshi self defense technique or Wrist Lock for the street from a wrestling control called the wrestling Russian or 2 on 1 control.

DOJO vs STREET: Fighting Techniques with Hoodie

Free TRITAC Street Fighting Techniques:

Techniques Real Street Fighting are much different then when learning martial arts techniques in the dojo. The martial arts fighting techniques still work, but how to fight with these techniques for a street fight is much different.

In this TRITAC-Jitsu Video, Matt Bryers and Sean Jugler shows you fighting techniques to use in the street using a “Hoodie”.

The ability to fight using clothing as a weapon is vital for surviving the worst street fights.

Matt Bryers shows you how to throw someone using the hoodie with the Ippon Seoi Nage throw. This Judo throw is a common martial arts fighting technique that you’ll see in dojos across the world. But, fighting in the street and using the judo throw is harder than it looks! Matt shows a nice grip control using the hoodie to throw someone in a real street fight.

This is not to say the martial arts techniques practiced in the dojo are not good street fighting techniques; but they just need to be modified.

In TRITAC-Jitsu one of the biggest fighting techniques or concepts we focus on is “Combat Entries”. Learning how to enter into grappling range to use martial arts techniques such as throws is the secret. The fighting techniques used in TRITAC-Jitsu focus on using combat entries to smash, enter and then throw your opponent and finish.

Matt also shows you how to use Jiu-Jitsu techniques for street combat. One of jiu-jitsu techniques Matt Bryers shows is the grounded BJJ Guard to Tripod Sweep.

The Tripod sweep is a common Jiu-Jitsu technique that is found in all Jiu-Jitsu dojos. It is a great sport BJJ technique, but it can also be used for real street fight and self-defense situations.
